Algoa Bay Whale Festival 2026
By Karen Keeton
Saturday, 6th June 2026Conservation through Education and Celebration remains the driving heartbeat of the annual Algoa Bay Whale Festival. In 2026, we proudly celebrated our 9th year of hosting this vibrant, fun-filled, and educational family event — where even the pups were welcome.
Bringing ocean lovers together at The Willows Resort, the festival celebrates the arrival of the majestic humpback whale migration to our certified Whale Heritage Area. Blending marine conservation with community entertainment. The programme featured indoor educational talks, guided walks and talks, tourism exhibitors, interactive outdoor educational exhibits, craft market, children's play area, and a variety of local food trucks offering flavours for all.
The festival serves as an excellent example of marine eco-tourism in action, highlighting the importance of protecting and celebrating Algoa Bay's rich marine biodiversity and internationally recognised Whale Heritage status.

Guest speakers from around the country and afar joined in to educate all on various topics. Keeping everyone in their seats! Thank you to a forll gathering at the most beautiful venue, The Willows Resort on the 'wildside' of Port Elizabeth. Thank you to our MC, Roland Gaspar, all Speakers, Guests, Lincoln Coffee Co. and Grillicious Food Truck for joining us on the day.
