Debe Valley Primary School, Middledrift, Visit PE
By Karen Keeton
Wednesday, 28th September 2022With much excitement a group of 38 learners from Debe Valley Primary School in Middledrift, near King Willilams Town, came to visit PE. We were very happy to welcome them and host them for the afternoon.
Purity spent time teaching the children about the marine life, focusing on the whales that are around the Bay at the moment. Purity prepared an interactive activity where the children could learn first hand about how efficient the blubber of a whale is. The blubber keeps the mammals warm in the icy Southern waters where they are feedimg inbetween migrating up to the Northern warmer waters to mate and give birth to their calves.
The scholars all enjoyed a harbour cruise with Jake, Thembisa (WESSA Steward), Sesona & Siviwe (NMU WIL Students), much learning, laughter and fun had by all.
Thank you to Buli, teacher at Debe Valley Primary School, for reaching out to us to make this event happen for the children.
Buli: "Learners from Debe Valley had a great time with your crew. They haven't stop talking about the cruise as well as the education on Sea life. Fun was had"
