Raggy Charters scoops Lilizela Tourism Awards for 4th time!
Thursday, 20th September 2018On the 20th September, the Provincial Lilizela Tourism Awards were held in East London. Raggy Charters received their 4th Award for the best Marine Adventures in the Eastern Cape. We have also won the National Award for the best Marine Adventures in South Africa on three occasions. The National Awards will be held later this year. The award was "For setting the benchmark in service excellence, contributing to the industry, investing in skills provision, leading by example and for ensuring that each guest is given a world-class experience in the Eastern Cape".
One of the main factors contributing to our success is the amount of effort we put into marine conservation, including education, research, anti marine pollution campaigns and lowering of our carbon footprint by rehabilitation of wetlands and planting of trees. It is not only what we do that is important, but also what other people say about us on the Trip Advisor reviews. Of the reviews posted, 350 have given us an excellent 5* rating and 16 a very good 4* rating. Only 9 passengers gave 3* star or lower. Well done to all the dedicated Raggy Charters staff!
Raggy Charters was represented by owner Lloyd Edwards, manager Jake Keeton, skipper Warren Tarboton and crew Kalahari Edwards and Bridget Barnard.
Launched in 2013, the Lilizela Tourism Awards (named for the Zulu word, “Lilizela” which means celebrating and praising by ululating when someone has done well) recognise and reward tourism players and businesses that work passionately, and with pride, to deliver world-class product and service, and whose delivery grows South Africa's global destination competitiveness.
