Southern Right Whales are here!

Saturday, 26th September 2026The Southern Right Whales are here in Algoa Bay, and in better numbers than 2025. We are enjoying great sightings of mother and calf pairs, and even a few amorous males. Amazing to see such good numbers of whales, considering that this species was hunted almost to extinction, with less than 300 individuals surviving the early 1900's!
If ever there was a time to join us Whale Watching...now would be that time!
Before these Southern Rights leave our waters for the feeding grounds in the Sub-Antarctic and Southern Oceans, with their calves.
