Don’t miss this new series narrated by Sir David Attenborough. The Raggy Charters Team are excited to see the final footage put together after many days at sea in all conditions. Exciting and exhausting but oh so worth every second! Every day we would be waiting for sunrise in the harbour before we left our moorings. The boat was loaded with half a ton of fuel; you just never knew where you would end up. Imagine how embarrassing it would be if you hit the real action and had to turn back because of lack of fuel?! On the day that we encountered the super pod of around 10 000 Long-beaked common dolphins we were in this very predicament. It was the furthest we had ever travelled with a film crew in a single day. It was in an area around 35 nautical miles south of Bird Island. Luckily, by the time the action was over, it was time to head back to port and we arrived back with two cans in reserve. Really can’t wait to see this footage, keep a lookout, you will know it when you see it! Read more here about the days spent filming in Algoa Bay.
